Sarah Bohl Photography Blog bio picture

Sarah Bohl Photography (the blog)

I laugh. A lot. A portrait session with me is fun, not stiff and formal. I love getting to know my clients, whether for a family shoot or a wedding. I find creativity in new places, and am inspired by so many things. I've teared up at every wedding I've shot, and I'm known to get pretty excited when I capture an amazing moment.

Sarah Bohl Photography is all about telling a story. The pictures I take become memories, stored to look back on whenever you choose. A framed photograph on the wall becomes a tale of growing up, of new ventures, or of starting a new life together. It's the story of where you were and what you hope for the future.

If you'd like me to photograph a special day for you and help tell YOUR story, feel free to contact me at sarah@sarahbohlphotography.com. Also be sure to check out my website, and be sure to visit my Facebook page!

Hint: You walk all over me…

I was thinking about my second-favorite movie, “Amelie” today. I have a lot of reasons that that movie makes the top of my list, and one of those reasons is how the movie introduces characters. Instead of just saying, “This is Suzy, and she’s a record producer,” the viewers get to know the people who make up the film by their little quirks. The little things that they love and hate. And when you think about it, one way to tell when you’re really friends with someone is when you know the little things…the things that they love and hate. So, in a way, we automatically become friends with these characters.

Ever since I saw this movie umpteen years ago, I’ve often thought about the little things as being much more significant. That’s not hard when I can find little things that make me happy. Like interesting welcome mats, for example. Someday, I will get this welcome mat. It cracks me up. Plus, it reminds me of travel, which is something that I love.

youarehere450Here’s a random video about it that I found on YouTube:

Tonight I saw a welcome mat at World Market that read, “got dirt?”. I laughed a little to myself. :o)

My brother’s welcome mat kind of scares me, it reads, “Come back when you have a warrant.” Hmm…

One of my favorite places for unique items, uncommongoods.com, had some unique takes on the welcome mat as well:

And now I’ve found out that when you Google “funny welcome mats” and “unique doormats,” you find some interesting things.

For some reason, I don’t think this welcome mat is very welcoming.

Haha…for the consumer in all of us…

Ooh, I love this one:

not-a-doormatTake some time this week to find some random things that make YOU smile! Or just watch “Amelie”. :o)
