2009 was my first official year in business…and what a great start! As someone who always had a camera in her hands, starting Sarah Bohl Photography was just the natural next step. Once I announced I was officially “open for business,” I received so many phone calls and emails and Facebook messages asking me to take pictures, it was amazing!
I’m so excited for 2010 and all of the possibilities it brings. I’m starting off the year by enhancing my skills and knowledge - I want to constantly learn and grow. January 6-10 I will be in Florida and the Bahamas, soaking up as much information as I can from photographers like Scarlett Lillian, Stephen Knuth, and the Bui Brothers.
One of the greatest joys of 2009 was photographing weddings. I had resisted for YEARS when people asked me to document their wedding days, saying that I wasn’t qualified enough for the job. However, I met some wonderful photographers who allowed me to photograph with them on wedding days, and I learned so much from those individuals that I felt confident enough to shoot weddings on my own. I didn’t know at the time that I would FALL IN LOVE with photographing weddings. I love everything about it. I now read books about wedding photography, I follow blogs about it. While I’m editing photos I turn on shows like TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress” or other wedding-related media. I buy wedding magazines by the armful, and I love meeting new couples and hearing about their plans for their own day.
So a big thank you goes out to my couples from 2009. I had a wonderful time at each and every one of these weddings.

And, as for my 2010 couples, I’m so excited for your upcoming weddings! Each one sounds amazing and unique, and I can’t wait to document your special day with photos that you’ll look back at for years and years. :o)
